There were goals I aimed to achieve before turning 40. However, I often procrastinated and failed to complete them. The issue began when I stopped taking action and neglected myself. So, I started walking and biking. I returned feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, ready to tackle the goals I set for the day.
I managed to accomplish it, even though I still have a long way to go on my list. But hey! I'm the only one handling all the household chores, so it's okay to take a break. I'm a working mom and wife, making it challenging to balance motherhood and marital responsibilities. It's difficult to satisfy both roles while maintaining sanity. Many mothers struggle with prioritizing because we give everything without reserving anything for ourselves, which is detrimental since self-care is crucial. No one can protect you but yourself.
You can't inspire or be a role model if you're exhausted and mentally drained. I understand my home might be chaotic, but that's alright. I've been acknowledging my efforts and recognizing that while I can do everything, I must also be gentle with myself. I need to stay committed and prompt, as I sometimes get distracted. Picture me battling with my superior self, nagging and directing my actions. So, I concentrated on what I truly wanted and what was important. I'll feel more relaxed, but I still need time for household chores. LOL. Don't worry, it's not that chaotic—just a bit of disarray. Nothing too serious.
