As they mentioned, "Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another person, involving recognizing, understanding, and sharing the thoughts and emotions of others, and seeing things from their perspective." I often absorbed what others felt and thought. It was beneficial to offer support and listen to their issues. However, at times, too much attachment caused me difficulties.
Their problems became my own as I experienced their emotions. It influenced my mood throughout the day. Even now, I am learning to detach from negative vibes, culture, and news around me. I chose to focus on my own feelings. I need to pursue and change myself rather than dwell on their challenges.
Currently, I have my own battles to conquer. I aim to change the bad habits accumulated over the years. I want to become a better version of myself and achieve my goals with better outcomes this year. So, I'll embrace Detachment Empathy, setting boundaries while still empathizing and understanding others without compromising myself.
